Only 20 kilometers or 2 Norwegian miles away from Alta, Northern Norway you will encounter landscapes like these. Vast open spaces crossed by ATV tracks and reindeer fences.
For me late October it’s one of the best time to go biking in the wilderness in Norway. Water is everywhere, but the temperatures drop at night, the water that soaks the moss freezes and your boots stay dry. No mosquitos and you can still enjoy day light.
Fatbike eats ATV road bumps really well, but your butt will hurt anyway. Just less.
Tarp tenting is great in the forest area but gets somewhat cold in the wide open plateaus of Finnmarksvidda. It will be frosty in the morning.
